The PCB from the previous post is now populated with electronic components and mounted in a suitable enclosure for use.
After visual inspection, power is applied to the PCA, voltage levels checked and it is functionally tested to ensure components are correctly orientated, connected and conform to design.
In this instance a further process is required to program the PIC microcontroller at the heart of the functionality. This is achieved via a 6pin onboard programming header and Microchip ICD development kit. Finally the PCA is mounted in the enclosure, external switches, knobs etc attached and the overall sub system functionality is available for test and integration into its operational environment.
